Theodore “Ted” B. Coleman

Theodore Coleman, age 71 of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died on Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home. A private family gathering will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Burial will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Ted was born on February 17, 1941, the son of Fred E. and Lila E. (Messinger) Coleman in Savanna, Illinois. He attended Mount Carroll High School and graduated with the Class of 1961. Ted married Marie D. Gable on April 29, 1962 and was later married to Juanita B. Rodenburg on May 27, 1967 in Mount Carroll. Juanita died on July 4, 2012 in Freeport, Illinois.

Ted worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation, maintaining roads for over twenty-five years. In his younger years, Ted worked at the A&P and the movie theater in Mount Carroll. He was a member of the Mason’s and formerly served on the Mount Carroll City Council. Ted treasured spending time with his wife, Juanita, especially while traveling out West. Ted also enjoyed gambling and spending time with his dog, Peaches. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Ted will be dearly missed by three children, Ted (Teresa Davis) Coleman of Chadwick, Illinois, Gwen (Daryld) Gahm of Mount Carroll and Chris (Charlie) Mason of Mount Carroll; eight grandchildren, Shanna (Ryan) Bess, Ashlynn (Joe) Roman and Theron Mason, Tel Fehlhafer and Tyrel (Jeanette) Fehlhafer, Casey Coleman, Benjamin (Jennifer Dempsey) Coleman and Nikki Davis; six great grandchildren; a special friend, Eleanor Eisfeller and his caregiver, Maryann Meador.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and one brother, Fred L. Coleman.

Ronald M. Pannkuk

Ronald M. Pannkuk, 71, of Shannon, died Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. He was born on July 19, 1941 in Buffalo Center, IA, the son of Minert and Sadie (Ruter) Pannkuk.

Ronald married Corrine Ryan on October 15, 1966 in Forreston, IL.

Ronald graduated from Shannon High School in 1960. He farmed in the Shannon area, worked for Cherry Brothers and Green Giant, and also was an L.P. truck driver for Carroll Service. He was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his pets.

Ronald is survived by his wife Corrine Pannkuk of Shannon, IL; his son Kevin (Trisha) Pannkuk of Shannon, IL; three daughters Karen (Garry) Richards of Freeport, Suellen Pannkuk of Shannon, and Linda (Ron) Getz of Savanna; his brother Gene (Katy) Pannkuk of Forreston; his sister Joyce (Thomas) McPhillips of Stockton; four grandchildren Jameson Pannkuk, Sarah Richards, and Riley and Lakin Getz; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Justin Richards.

Funeral services for Mr. Pannkuk were held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 19, 2013 at North Grove Evangelical Church in rural Forreston, with Rev. Tom McClellan officiating. A visitation was held from 4-8:00 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Frank Zahn, Sr.

Frank William “Carl” Zahn, Sr., age 86, of Lanark, Illinois died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll, Illinois. A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Mount Carroll. Burial will ttook place in the Trinity Cemetery, rural Mount Carroll with Military Rites accorded by the Lanark V.F.W. Post # 4857. A visitation was held Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 17894 Timber Lake Road, Mount Carroll, Illinois 61053. A memorial fund has been established in Frank’s memory.

John E. McColley,

John E. McColley, age 77, of Sabula, Iowa, formerly of Savanna, Illinois died Wednesday January 16, 2013. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday January 19, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial took place at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Savanna. Visitation was Friday, January 18, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in John’s memory.

Martin F. Hansen

Martin F. Hansen, age 79 of Savanna, Illinois died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at home. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Military Rites will be given by the Savanna VFW after the service. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Larry Allen Lufkin, age 72, of Argo Fay, Illinois died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson.
