Tadeusz Maciejczyk, MD

Dr. Tadeusz Maciejczyk, age 89, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home.

He was born on November 1, 1923 in Warchova, Poland. On January 5, 1956, he married Bernarda Boix in Sta Coloma de Farnes, Spain. He moved to Milledgeville with his family in 1965 and practiced family medicine there for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed painting and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Bernarda of Chicago; four daughters, Irka (Samuel) Saunders of Martin, SD, Maria (Stephen) Clapham of Des Moines, Iowa, Teresa Maciejczyk of Chicago and Cristina (David Koziol) of Chicago; one son, Pablo (Eugenia) Maciejczyk of Spain; one sister, Maria of Poland and eight grandchildren.

His is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 5-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville with a wake service at 4:45 PM. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 16, at 11:00 AM with a one hour visitation before Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Polo, IL with Reverend Louis Tosto officiating. A private burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Milledgeville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.

Robert H. Goodrow

Robert “Bob” H. Goodrow, age 85 of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Bob’s memory.

Vern V. Wiese

Vern V. Wiese, age 89, of Hanover, Illinois died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hanover. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Military rites will be accorded by the Hanover VFW Post #5300. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. A memorial fund has been established in Vern’s memory.

Charles Nobis

Charles “Chuck” Nobis, age 86, of Hanover, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012, at the nursing home of the Senior Care Community, Galena, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00pm., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover, IL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Hanover United Methodist Church.

JoAnn Hoffman

JoAnn Hoffman, age 77, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at home with her loving family. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Massbach, Illinois. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Massbach. Visitation will be held 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in JoAnn’s memory
