Virginia A. Wilkens, 87, died at her home in Morrison, IL on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. at the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL on Saturday, December 22, 2012 with Mr. Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at the Ebenezer Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Memorials have been established in Virginia’s name.
Virginia was born February 8, 1925 in Morrison to Fall and Ella (Dykhuizen) Decker. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. On March 19, 1946, she married Jay J. Wilkens in Morrison. Jay passed away on December 10, 2012.
Virginia was employed at various offices throughout her career. She worked as a water clerk for the City of Morrison and retired after 17 years.
Virginia was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison where she was on the Ladies Aid Committee. Her favorite hobby was genealogy and she also enjoyed gardening and canning. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them.
Virginia is survived by Four Daughters: Sandra Wilkens, Morrison, IL; Deborah (Gary) Juist, Polo, IL; Ellyn Sue (Charles) Osterday, New Paris, IN; Cheryl (Brian) Onken, Morrison, IL; One Son: Steven (Lou Ann) Wilkens, Lanark, IL; Fourteen Grandchildren: Sarah (Kristopher) Schmidt, Rachel (Scott) Phillips, Daniel (Jani) Wilkens, Andrew (Raina) Wilkens, Matthew (Britini) Wilkens, Laura (Caleb) Fightmaster, Charles (Kristi) Osterday III, Darrin (Abby) Osterday, Eric (Elizabeth) Osterday, Mitchell Osterday, Adam (Veronica) Miller, Katey Miller, Emily (Cody Hansen) Miller, Sadie Onken;

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jay; and One Brother, Bernard Decker.
