Morrison Police Investigating Another Bomb Threat at High School

Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports that today, at approximately 9:05 a.m., the Morrison High School reported a bomb threat to the Morrison Police. The high school was then evacuated and closed according to the response plan by school staff.

No details of the threat are being released due to an ongoing investigation.

No evidence has been discovered or identified to legitimize the threat. The Morrison High School was reopened later this morning. An investigation continues by Morrison Police.

Morrison Police are being assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations.

Chief Brian Melton is asking for the public’s help. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, or other bomb threats, please contact the Morrison Police at 815-772-7659 or by calling the Whiteside County Crime Stoppers at 877-625-7867. Crime Stoppers has committed to a cash reward of $500 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest(s). Remember, you may remain anonymous!
