Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports the following arrests made and citations issued since Monday, January 21, 2013. The following Arrests are reported.
On Saturday, January 26, 2013, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation on East Wall Street near the intersection of South Jackson Street. As a result of further investigation during the traffic stop, the driver, a female juvenile age 17 of Prophetstown, was issued a citation for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle and released after posting her Driver’s License as bond. Two passengers in the vehicle, a female juvenile age 17 of Prophetstown and Devin M. Bonneville, age 18 of Lyndon, were arrested for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bonneville was released on a Notice to Appear. The female juvenile was released to her parent/legal guardian on a Notice to Appear.
On Sunday, January 27, 2013, at approximately 1:12 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on East Main Street near the intersection of North Cherry Street. As a result of further investigation during the traffic stop, the driver, Mark T. Kelly, age 41 of Clinton IA, was arrested for Failure to Signal When Required and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Kelly was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, processed and released on a Notice to Appear.

1-28-13 – Richard L. Stone, 34, Clinton, IA, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Failure to Reduce Speed, and Leaving the Scene / Accident
2-6-13 – Michael W. Rennie Jr., 18, Morrison, No Valid Registration
1-31-13 – Joseph A. Schumacher, 44, Elkhorn, WI, Speeding
1-31-13 – Jerry J. Houston, 40, Clinton, IA, Ordinance – No Parking
2-03-13 – Anthony E. Walker, 45, Morrison, Ordinance – Parking – Handicap Violation

Whiteside County Arrests, Citations
1-29-13 at 12:31 p.m. - A sixteen year old Sterling male was arrested by deputies on traffic offensesfollowing a traffic stop in Sterling. He was arrested for Defective Exhaust, Graduated License Violation – Too ManyPassengers, along with Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was released on bond.
2-01-13 at 09:15 a.m. – Alex Nolan, age 25 of Stuart, Iowa, wasarrested by deputies at IL Route 78 and Mohawk Road for Driving While LicenseRevoked. He was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office where he was processedand then released on bond.
2-01-13 at 11:38 a.m. – A traffic stop in Rock Falls resulted in the arrest of the driver, Shanti M. Cervantes, age 20 of RockFalls for Tinted Windows and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. She was later released after posting herdriver’s license as bond. Passenger, Silas C. Hammelman, age 21 of Sterling, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, 10 to 30 grams. He was processed at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and later released on bond. Rock Falls Police and Williams’ Towing assisted on scene.
2-03-13 at 08:20 a.m. – Donald J. Richardson, age 47 of Sterling, was arrested in Lyndon for Driving While License Suspended. He was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and released with a Notice to Appear. Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.
2-03-13 at 09:51 a.m. – Tina M. Trausch, age 48 of Sterling, stopped rural Sterling andcited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Driver’s license posted as bond. Written warning for No Front Registration Plate.
