Bob Hatheway, proprietor of Shaw’s Marketplace in Mount Carroll, sees the store’s new sign as a sign of progress.
“It was always the plan to put up a road sign to help the store be more noticeable,” Hatheway said. “Especially at night or on foggy days. With all the remodeling we did last year, we needed to put the sign on hold for awhile.”
The sign was installed on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, and has already been noticed by many.
“Some day in the future we hope to get a face lift on the outside of the building. But for now, the sign on the building reads ‘Shaws Food Pride,’ and the new sign reads ‘Shaw’s Marketplace.’ Regardless of what sign you’re looking at, we will always be Shaw’s.”
Hatheway expressed his thanks for the opportunity to serve Carroll County.
“The county support has been incredible, and without our wide customer base none of the remodeling or sign would have been possible. Thanks to all!”
