Morrison Christmas Tree Walk
The Christmas Tree Walk is a silent auction of holiday trees that starts on November 25, 2013 and runs thru December 7, 2013, the evening of this year’s Christmas Walk in Morrison. Decorated trees will be on display and up for bid, using bid sheets, in all of the participating shops until Friday, December 6. All of the trees will be together for viewing and bidding at the Morrison Christmas Walk at Wells Fargo Bank, 100 W. Lincolnway, on Saturday, December 7 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Bidding will close the evening of the Christmas Walk, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the Christmas Tree Walk silent auction benefit the “New Banners for Main Street” fundraiser. Decorated trees can be viewed on the Morrison Chamber of Commerce facebook page, at the Christmas Walk on Saturday evening, or at participating businesses. For more information, call 815-772-3757.

Elks Scholarship Opportunities
The Galena Elks Lodge is now accepting applications for scholarships through the Elks National Foundation. This scholarship is available to all high school seniors who are United States citizens. Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks. Completed applications must be turned in to the Galena Elks Lodge, 123 N. Main Street, Galena, no later than December 6, 2013. Mount Carroll Christmas Tour of Homes
Mount Carroll’s Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for it’s annual “Christmas Tour of Homes” Saturday December 7, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year we will have six sites on the tour. Highlighting the tour will be the Caroline Marks’ Home. Most of the homes where built at the town’s inception. EES Christmas Concert
Eastland Elementary School’s annual Christmas Concert will be held Wednesday, December 11 in Shannon’s school gymnasium. Christmas Concert at Savanna FUMC
The Sixth Annual Savanna Area Christmas Concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Savanna. Everyone is welcome to attend. Don’t miss this year’s night of Christmas music performed by some of your favorite local musicians, including New Spirit Band, Men of Calvary, Kelly Kasbohm, West Carroll High School Madrigal Choir, a jazz combo directed by Emily Bressler, North Central College’s a cappella group Sonata Problem, Vivian Eaton, and, of course, the Savanna Area Christmas Choir under the direction and accompaniment of Pam Watts and Gloria Miner. Refreshments donated by Swiss Colony and members of the choir will be provided following the concert. The FHN parking lot across the street from the church will also be available for concert attendees. Parking attendants and shuttle drivers will be present to help parking move as quickly, easily, and warmly as possible!
22nd Annual Tree of Lights
On December 16 at 3:00 PM Morrison Community Hospital will light a Christmas tree covered with angels that commemorate the lives of those loved ones who are not here to celebrate the holidays with us. This event will feature a prayer from a local pastor plus the lighting of the tree. If anyone would like to purchase an angel to hang on the tree the cost is only $5. Any money raised will be donated to the Hospital Foundation. You can purchase an angel by contacting Jennifer Alvarado or Mick Welding at the Hospital or call 815-772-4003 and ask for Jenn or Mick. The deadline to purchase is December 12.
