GUILTY PLEAS

Kenyon Hall, Savanna, pled guilty to domestic battery and was sentenced to two days in jail, credit for time served. He was also fined $300.

Julie Ruter, Shannon, pled guilty to giving/selling liquor to a minor and was sentenced to 18 months court supervision and ordered to perform 20 hours of public service. She was fined $736.

Karl Beyer, Mount Carroll, pled guilty to consumption of alcohol as a minor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail , credit for 4 days served. He was fined $179.

7-3-12 at 10:00 pm: During a fireworks complaint investigation in rural Rock Falls, Todd A. Willett, age 51 of Rock Falls was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Less than 2.5 grams) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Scott L. McDuffy, age 42 also of Rock Falls, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both men were released on a Notice to Appear. Rock Falls Police assisted on scene.

7-3-12 at 11:40 pm: Deputies investigated a party and arrested (2) subjects for Unlawful Possession of Alcoholic Beverages by a Minor. Arrested were : Sasha M. Branson-Welker, age 20 of Sterling and a 16 year old Sterling female. Sasha was issued a Notice to Appear while the juvenile was referred to Whiteside County Juvenile Court and released to a guardian. Rock Falls Police assisted on scene.

7-4-12 at 4:00 am: Robert D. Bonnell, age 22, of Lyndon was arrested in Prophetstown for Failure to use Turn Signal When Required and 2 counts of DUI. After processing at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, he was released on a Notice to Appear.

7-7-12 at 11:08 pm: Upon investigation of a fireworks complaint in Garden Plain, the following subjects were charged with Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and released with a Notice to Appear: Kimberlyn M. Stoecker, age 18 of Fulton; Amber A. Ryder, age 19 of Albany; Kendra Jean Williams, age 19, of Fulton; Ryan W. Rose, age 19 of Fulton; Jacob Nathaniel Mills, age 20 of Clinton, IA

7-12-12 at 12:14 am: Zachary J. Bohm, age 20 of Rock Falls was arrested at the Knief Road canal parking lot for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Less Than 2.5 Grams and released on a Notice to Appear.

7-12-12 at 3:27 am: Sean A. Jurgens, age 44 of Winnetka CA, was arrested in Tampico for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, More Than 2.5 Grams but Less Than 10 Grams and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released from the scene on a Notice to Appear.

7-17-12 at 9:40 pm: Deputies investigated an incident were a rural Sterling house was egged. A 17 year old Sterling female was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Phone Harassment, and Resisting Arrest. She was ultimately released pending proceedings with Whiteside County Juvenile Court Authorities.

7-25-12 at 12:00 am: Cody A. Rhodes, age 22 of Sterling was arrested near Route 30 and Galt Road for Speeding (74/55 MPH) and (2) counts of DUI. After processing at the Rock Falls Police Department, Cody was released on a Notice to Appear. Assisting on scene and with processing was Rock Falls Police, and CGH Ambulance.

Crash at Rt. 30 and Lyndon Rd.

On 7/21/12, at 11:02 am, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a traffic crash at the intersection of US Rt 30 and Lyndon Road. Officers arriving on scene found a three vehicle traffic crash, with all vehicles located in the northwest area of the intersection.

involved in the traffic crash was Calvin Willett, age 44, of Springfield, IL; Janet Burke, age 51, of Rock Falls, IL; and Judith Pomorin, age 65, and Kenneth Pomorin, age 67, both of Sterling, IL.

Willett was driving a 2010 white Ford van. He was on Lyndon Road, stopped for the stop sign on the south side of the intersection, at US Rt 30, and was traveling north, on Lyndon Road.

Burke was driving a 2007 green Jeep. She was traveling west on US Rt 30.

Pomorin was driving a 1997 red Ford pickup truck. Kenneth Pomorin was a passenger in the truck. Judith was on Lyndon Road stopped at the stop sign on the north side of the intersection, at US Rt 30. She was waiting to turn right and go west.

Willett stated that he did not see the west bound Jeep, driven by Burke. Willett pulled away from the stop sign and proceeded north on Lyndon Road, and across US Rt 30.

Burke was unable to avoid the van that Willett was driving, and struck the van. The impact caused the van to spin around and slide across the intersection, to the northwest. The van struck the Pomorin pickup truck, which was stopped at the stop sign. The Burke Jeep spun around to the northwest of the intersection and overturned onto the driver’s side.

Calvin Willett and Judith and Kenneth Pomorin were all transported to Morrison Hospital, by Morrison Ambulance. Janet Burke was transported to CGH Medical Center, in Sterling, Il, by CGH Ambulance.

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Morrison Fire Department, Morrison Police Department and Illinois State Police.

Calvin Willett was issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way after stopping at a stop sign. He posted his driver’s license for bond, for an August 20, 2012, court appearance, in Morrison Court.
