LENA Wes Ertmer rushed 22 times for 171 yards and four touchdowns as Lena-Winslow defeated Eastland-Pearl City 35-6 Saturday afternoon in a first round playoffs matchup.
Lena-Winslow won without completing a pass.
Ertmer scored on a 42-yard run in the third quarter to help seal the postseason victory for the Panthers.
Following a scoreless first quarter, Lena-Winslow hit paydirt with two second period touchdowns. The Panthers pushed out in front, carrying a 13-0 lead into halftime.
Lena-Winslow held Eastland-Pearl City scoreless until the final quarter The Wildcats' lone touchdown came on a Tony Dunlap 15-yard reception. Lena-Winslow led 29-0 at the end of the third quarter.
Fritz Werhane aided the Lena-Winslow rushing effort. Werhane rushed 17 times for 91 yards,
Zach Edmund, Kolton Kempel and Stephen Heinrich also rushed for positive yardage for the Panthers. Edmund scored on a one-yard run.
As a team, Lena-Winslow rushed 63 times for 341 yards.
Eastland-Pearl City was limited throughout the game. The Wildcats were held to 58 yards through 20 carries. Eastland-Pearl City picked up 104 yards through the air.
Jerime Coombes led Eastland-Pearl City on the ground, rushing nine times for 40 yards.
E-PC QB CarsonWalker completed 11 of 26 passes for 104 yards,
Cole Miller hauled in six catches for 59 yards in the Eastland-Pearl City season-ending setback. Tony Dunlap recorded a pair of catches for the Wildcats.
Lena-Winslow will face Elmhurst Immaculate Conception in the next round of the State Playoffs.
