Elsie J. Lawson

Elsie J. Lawson, age 71, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, with Reverend Gary Abney officiating. Burial will follow in the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Memorials may be directed to the Needy Children’s Fund, Savanna.

Joyce Keim

Joyce L. Keim, age 80, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at her home in rural Mt. Carroll. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Harkness officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 4 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, at the Frank Law Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be directed to the Carroll County Humane Society or the Illinois 4 H Foundation.

Jacob G. Getz, age 94, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Friday, October 9, 2009, at the Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Savanna, with Rev. Philip Bigelow officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery, rural Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, also at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. Bonnie Selig

Bonnie Jean Selig, age 65, of Galena, Illinois, formerly of Elizabeth, Illinois, and the Chicago Suburbs, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 8, 2009, surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with uterine cancer. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 4 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Law - Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Interment will be held at a later date in the Elizabeth Cemetery with a private family memorial service.
