The West Carroll All Sports Boosters are excited to announce the 1st Annual Super 50/50 drawing. Starting at the first home volleyball game on September 3rd it will continue until the winner is drawn at the senior parent night for boy's basketball. The boosters are hoping that this will be an exciting way to make money for the boosters and one very lucky participant.

The money from this event will be used to further improve the West Carroll athletics programs, purchase of equipment for athletic injuries (i.e. freezer for ice for injuries), help pay for athletic teams to go to camps, and the purchase of equipment that will help improve our athletes (i.e. batting cage for baseball, softball and golf teams). Anybody 18 years or older is able to play and it only costs a dollar a chance. You can buy as many chances as you like.

To buy a ticket, you just need to visit the boosters at the concession stand at any home high school event between now and the February 16th home game against the Forreston Cardinals. The winner need not be present at that game to win their share of the pot. So, come on out, support our Thunder, get a bite to eat at the concession stand and buy a Super 50/50 ticket!

Corey Ottens Memorial Alumni Basketball Tournament

'Bragging rights are on the line'

It is that time of year again for all the "old" Mustangs to dust off the basketball shoes and back onto the court and display their skills in the 3rd Annual Corey Ottens Memorial Alumni Basketball Tournament. The event is being held at the Morrison High School Gym on October 24th beginning at 8:00AM and lasting much of the day.

All former Mustangs are encouraged to get their old teams back together for a 1-day tournament with bragging rights on the line. This is also a great way to raise funds for the Morrison Athletic Hall of Fame and the Corey Ottens Memorial Fund. All proceeds from the tournament will be divided and presented to each group.

If you don't think you can get your old varsity team together, that's not a problem, as there will be other teams for you to play with from another class. Last year featured 8 teams from 4 different decades with the championship going to the class of 93-94. Players came from as far away as Texas to be part of this great event.

Even if you are not a player, you can still support the cause by coming out and cheering on your favorite players from the past. Concessions will be served.

Anyone interested in playing or if you have any questions please contact Gus Linke Jr. at .
