Chadwick-Milledgeville Holds Annual School Board Retreat
On Wednesday, February 8, 2012, the Milledgeville High School Library was the site of the annual School Board Retreat. Here is a synopsis of the activities discussed:
- Discussion and Revision of District Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Goals: The board reviewed all documents and made revisions to some of the district goals and objectives. These changes will be approved at the February 21, 2012 board meeting.
- Performance Contracting and Facility Enhancement: The board heard a presentation from Energy Systems Group represented by Marion Kotecki and Joel McFadden regarding the benefits of performance contracting. In addition, they discussed the various types of building improvements that can be accomplished through performance contracting.
- Annual District Survey Results and Discussion: The board reviewed and analyzed the results of this year’s survey. The results indicate that district residents are pleased with the quality of our schools and that they like the small size of our district. Facility renovation topped the list of changes or improvements recommended by respondents. Finally, the respondents recommended that the district pursue closer ties and cooperation with Eastland School District.
- 1:1 Computer Initiative: Implementation of a 1:1 computer initiative at the high school level was discussed. Commencement of this initiative is planned for August of 2013. This timeline will allow adequate time for infrastructure improvements and staff training.
- Shared Services and Personnel Discussion: A brief and general discussion was held regarding continuation of shared service initiatives i.e. transportation with Eastland etc. District administration were instructed to continue to look for ways we can share staff or services with neighboring districts.
