Cody Andrew Larsen, age 17, passed away on Monday February 7, 2011. He was born on October 16, 1993 to Andrew D. Larsen and Lisa E. Miller in Monroe, WI. He was a student at Lena-Winslow High School. He enjoyed playing video games and using his cell phone. Cody was proud of how much texting he was capable of, he always tried to beat the prior month. He enjoyed riding anything with a motor.
Cody is survived by his Mother Lisa (Justin) Wright of Lena; Father Andrew (Elaine) Larsen of Lena; sister Lexi Wright of Lena; Maternal Grandmother Karen Miller of McConnell; Paternal Grandparents Dale and Kay Larsen of Stockton; Paternal Great Great Grandmother; Viola Mapes of Stockton, IL. Maternal aunts- Janet (Hank) Euler, Laurie (Ronald) Oberle, Kristi (Kevin) Neubauer; Paternal aunts- Amy (Nevin) Werkheiser, Sara (Todd) Patterson and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Lyle A. Miller and uncle Lyle P. Miller
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday February 11, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena
Beverly J. Akker 83 of Morrison, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison. Cremation rites have been accorded with a graveside service to be held at a later date. There will not be a visitation, and the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.
Beverly Jean Carley was born September 4, 1927 in Sterling, IL to Ralph A. and Grace E. (Gouker) Carley. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School – Morrison, IL in 1945. She married Louis A. Akker on June 27, 1948 in Morrison, IL. Beverly was employed by the Carnation Company – Morrison, IL, sold tickets at the Capitol Theatre and later worked as a cook for the Chadwick School where she greeted every student with a smile. She also helped her husband farm in Chadwick until their retirement. Beverly was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church – Morrison, IL where she participated in choir and was involved various Bible Study Groups. She helped cook in the church Kitchen for many events. Bev and Louis taught Christian Endeavor. Bev was a member of the Chadwick Woman’s Club. Bev loved to bake. During the holidays she would make her “famous” cinnamon rolls for family, friends, and neighbors. She also loved to grow flowers and vegetables. She was a cat lover and would often nurse back to health any of the farm animals. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years.
Bev will be lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 63 years, Louis; one daughter, Pamela (David) Sikma – Momence, IL; two sons, Steven (Cathy) Akker – Chadwick, IL and Philip (Debbie) Akker – Morrison, IL; four grandsons, Ben (Sarah) Sikma, Jon Sikma, Jason Sikma, and Joel Sikma; one granddaughter, Cara Akker; two step grandchildren, Eric Birely and Aimee Murphy; one great grandchild; and five step great grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mrs. Shirley Horkan; and one brother in infancy.
Imelda C. (Stillmunks) Bailey, age 101, of Hanover, Illinois, died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Stonehill Franciscan Services, Dubuque, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Hanover, with a Rosary Service held at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hanover. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Wayne Hull, age 60, of Clinton, Iowa, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Savanna Law – Jones Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011, also at the Savanna Law – Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lower York Cemetery, Thomson, Illinois.
