Beatrice E. “Bea” Grant, 82, of Lanark, Il. died peacefully on Mon. Feb.21, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Grant was born Sept. 15, 1928 in Shannon, Il, the daughter of Basil and Edythe (Rees) Rinard. She married Harold J. Grant on May 4, 1947 in the First Lutheran Church in Freeport, Illinois by Rev. Charles Landrvere. Her Husband died January 21, 1995.
She was a graduate of Polo High School. She was a homemaker; owner of Bea’s Pizza Place in Lanark, worked as a waitress and managed the Green Giant Lunch Stand.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark. She served on Altar Guild, Christian Service Committee, Church’s 125th Anniversary Committee, Eastland Council of Churches, Women’s group and Church Council. She also served as Financial Secretary for several years. She and her husband assisted with the formation of the Blackhawk Sam Camping Club.
She loved her family, church family, family dinners, being with her grandchildren and going to their numerous activities and camping.
Mrs. Grant is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Grant, Prophetstown and Cindy (Shelvan) Heid, McConnell; 3 sons, Micheal Grant, Jarrell, TX., Edward Grant and Kenneth (Ardena) Grant both from Lanark: 11 grandchildren, Marty (Lucy) Grant, Byron, Jill (Wendell Ebersole) Queckboerner, Chadwick, Paul Grant, Milledgeville, Justin (Nichole) Heid, McConnell, Shawn (Abbie) Heid, Pearl City, Ashlee Heid (Joshua McCarthy), Peoria, Edward (Angie) Grant, Jr., Montgomery, Il., Brock (Kathy) Grant, Albuquerque, N.M., Scott Grant, and Eric Grant all from Fulton, and Keri (Gary) Kramer, Clinton, IA; 4 step grandchildren, Audrey LaPuma, Rhinelander, WI, Wilferd Tobias, Tomahawk, WI, Charlene (Ron Matson) Labarge, Wausau, WI, Randy Webie, Jr., Tomahawk, WI; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; 6 step great- great grandchildren; 3 sister-in-law, Forrest Harris, Mt. Morris, Arlene Callahan, Castle Dale, UT., and Joann Grant, Polo; 1 brother-in-law, Pete Powell, Polo; 1 Aunt, Darlene Jacobs, Sterling, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Richard and Donald Rinard; 2 sister-in-laws, Bernice and Helene Rinard and 1 step great-grandson.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM at Russell- Frank Funeral Home, Lanark, IL. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 AM. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Lanark, IL. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
Memorial has been established for the Trinity Lutheran Church and Lanark Fire department.

Fayetta DeSpain Gilmore, age 83, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Monday, February 21, 2011, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

Joyce E. Rath, age 79, of rural Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, February 26, at home surrounded by her family. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Reverend Philip Bigelow will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery in rural Savanna. A Visitation will be held from 5 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll.
