(PA photo/Craig Lang) Milledgeville-Polo Coop EndsBy Craig LangPrairie Advocate SportsThe Polo School Board on Thursday June 25, 2010 approved by a vote of 5-1 to begin a two year coop agreement for spring sports with Forreston. The vote effectively ends the coop agreement between the Polo and Milledgeville school districts for all spring sports. The coop between Milledgeville and Polo began in 2003 and led to many stellar sports teams, the last being this years girls softball team who were eliminated by Rock Falls. Both the Milledgeville-Polo baseball coach Jeff Sands and the softball coach Rick Lincoln were employees of the Polo school district. The new coop agreement will begin with the 2010-2011 school year and will include baseball, softball track and wrestling. With the move, the Milledgeville program will wait to see what their school board will do as they meet later. As for right now, the move will drop the Missiles programs back to the 1A classification.
