Betty H. Frank, 91, of Lanark, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Mt. Carroll.
She was born Aug. 13, 1918 at Lanark, a daughter of William and Louise (Braubant) Sprecher. She was a graduate of Mt. Carroll High School, attended Shimer College where she received her teaching certificate, and continued her education at Rockford College. She taught at country schools, then Center Hill School, and retired from the Lanark School System. She married William H. Frank in l940.
Betty was an avid reader and bridge player and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving are three children, Jean (John) Harris of Dunedin, New Zealand; Dana (Herb) Tautz of Mt.Carroll; and Bill (Kristin) Frank of Roscoe; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in l992, and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be at ll:00 A.M. on Wed. Aug. 4, 20l0 at the Russell-Frank Funeral Home in Lanark, with Pastor Dan Rusmisel of the Community Mennonite Fellowship in Sterling officiating. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 P. M. at the funeral home.

Wyatt Robert Whitebread, age 14, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in a grain elevator accident at Mt. Carroll, Illinois. A private family Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2010. Public visitation will be held 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given in honor of Wyatt for the Carroll County Long Spurs Trap Shooting Team.

Alejandro (Alex) Guillermo Pacas, age 19, of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in a grain elevator accident at Mount Carroll. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Frank Law Jones Funeral Home in Mount Carroll, with a Rosary Service held at 3:30 p.m. prior to the visitation at the funeral home. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at a later date.
