The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Milledgeville on Tuesday evening and came away with the twenty point victory. Aquin jumped out to a nine point lead (19-10) after one quarter and extended their lead to twenty five points (45-20) at the half. The lead was nineteen points (60-41) going into the final period.
Freeport Aquin’s Sophie Brunner led all scorers in the contest with twenty one points while teammate Ellen Brunner added a dozen. For the Lady Missiles, Rebecca Whitmarsh led Milledgeville with eighteen points.
Forreston 66 AFC 21

The Lady Cardinals opened up a twelve point (15-3) first quarter lead and rolled to the easy win. Forreston led thirty one to thirteen at the half and led fifty four to twenty one after three. The Lady Raiders were held scoreless in the final quarter.
Ketarah DeVries led Forreston in the scoring column, dropping in nineteen points with teammates Megan Curry adding a dozen points with seven rebounds and six steals and Hannah Curry and Anna Drake each scoring eleven points. For AFC, Kristen Dillon scored ten of the Lady Raiders twenty one points. AFC took the F/S contest by a 45-40 margin in overtime.

West Carroll 42 Milledgeville 34
The host Lady Thunder held a six to five first quarter lead and held off the Lady Missiles to capture the victory. West Carroll led by five points (20-15) at the half. Milledgeville clawed their way back in the third period, outscoring the Lady Thunder ten to seven to cut West Carroll’s lead to just two points going into the final quarter. West Carroll outscored Milledgeville seventeen to seven in the final frame to make the final margin for the win.
Aliesha Handel led the Lady Thunder with thirteen points and teammate Leshia Larson added ten points and hauled down twelve rebounds. Taylor Grenoble led the Lady Missiles with ten points. West Carroll also won the F/S contest 29-24.
Rock Falls 46 Eastland 36
The visiting Lady Rockets jumped out to a six point (16-10) first quarter lead and held off the Lady Cougars to take the win. Rock Falls led by five points (27-22) at the half time intermission and extended their lead to nine points (35-26) after three quarters.
Lauren Haas and Katie Olson both scored nine points each to lead the Lady Rockets. For Eastland, Marissa Harris dropped in eight points to lead the Lady Cougars with teammates Katrina Hatheway and Lexis Macomber each scoring seven.
Morrison 43 Fulton 37 (OT)
The Fillies picked up their second victory in the Three Rivers conference with the overtime win over the Lady Steamers. Morrison improves their record to four wins against twelve losses and two wins against six losses in conference while Fulton falls to seven and twelve overall with a conference record of two wins and four losses.
Tyler Fuller paced the Fillies dumping in fifteen points. Teammate Chelsea Eads added eight points. For the Lady Steamers, Morgan Wierema scored thirteen points with teammate Morgan Sanquist adding a dozen.
January 5
East Dubuque 47 Eastland 45
East Dubuque took a thirteen to five first quarter lead and held off the Lady Cougars to take the victory. Eastland (7-11,1-2) trailed by just three points at the half and cut East Dubuque’s lead to two points (34-32) going into the final quarter but could get no closer.
Emily Herbst led East Dubuque with fourteen points and teammate Michaela Marty added ten. Lexis Macomber who dropped in eleven points with Marissa Harris adding ten points and Haley Miller scoring nine led the Lady Cougars on the scoreboard. East Dubuque (7-2,6-0) was aided at the free throw line, making eighteen of twenty four attempts to Eastland’s three for eight.

Forreston 50 Stockton 44
The Lady Cardinals jumped out to a thirteen to four first quarter lead and held on for the six point win. Forreston led twenty three to fifteen at the half time break and held a nine point (39-30) lead at the end of three quarters. Ketarah DeVries led Forreston in scoring with twenty two points and teammate Emily Korf added eight. Kristin Wright led the Lady Blackhawks with thirteen points and Jaci Lawfer added eleven points.
January 7
Annawan 56 River Ridge/Scales Mound 21
The Lady Wildcats kept it close, trailing by just four points (15-11) after one quarter against the Annawan Bravettes on Saturday night. The Bravettes then clamped down on River Ridge/Scales Mound limiting them to just ten points in the final three quarters to come away with the thirty five point victory. Annawan led twenty nine to fourteen at the half and extended their lead to forty one to nineteen after three quarters.
The Lady Wildcats were able to get scoring out of only three players with Kaitlyn Pleau leading the way with eight points. Annawan was led in the scoring column by Celina VanHyfte who dumped in twenty one points.
Polo 47 Milledgeville 30
The Lady Marcos led twelve to nine going into the second quarter. Polo was able to extend that lead to seven points (23-16) at the half and outscored the Lady Missiles thirteen to six in the third quarter to go into quarter number four leading by fourteen points (36-22). Brecken Albrecht led Polo with a dozen points while Rebecca Whitmarsh led the Lady Missiles with nine points.

The Cardinals held a slim one point (10-9) lead going into quarter number two. Erie outscored the Mustangs fifteen to six to take a thirty five to fifteen lead in at the halftime intermission. Both squads put twenty three points on the board in the second half but Morrison could get no closer as they fell to the Cardinals. Jacob Johnston led Erie with twenty points and teammate Tanner Jackson added ten. For Morrison, Bill Bos led the Mustangs with thirteen points. Morrison won the F/S game by a score of 37-21.
Scales Mound 59 River Ridge 49
The Wildcats held a four point lead (8-4) going into the second quarter but the Hornets broke the game open outscoring River Ridge twenty two to eleven to take a thirty three to nineteen lead in at the half. River Ridge managed to cut that lead to seven points (45-38) going into the final period but were outscored fourteen to eleven in the fourth to make the final margin of victory. Derian Phillips led Scales Mound with sixteen points while teammates Josh Korte and T.J. Staver each added thirteen points. Matt Steele led River Ridge with sixteen points and Cody Landwer added fourteen.

The Wolves used a big first half scoring advantage to hold off the Blackhawks and took the four point win. Pearl City led by three points (15-12) after one and increased that lead to ten points (35-25) at the half. Stockton cut that lead to seven points (46-39) going into the final period but Pearl City was able to hold on for the win. The Wolves went eighteen of twenty two from the free throw line. Jason Kurth led Pearl City with twenty four points and Zach Moyer added nineteen. Jared Hess who dumped in eighteen points with teammate Cole Schamberger adding fourteen led Stockton.
Forreston 49 Milledgeville 28
The Cardinals jumped out to a fifteen to seven first quarter lead and cruised to the twenty one point victory. Forreston (7-5,3-0) led twenty five to eleven at the half and held a thirty two to eighteen lead going into the final quarter. The Cardinals outscored Milledgeville (2-10,0-4) seventeen to ten in the final period. Tanner Bronkema and Skylar Hayunga paced the Forreston offense with both players dropping in a dozen points. Robert Cornelius added eight points for the Cardinals. Caleb Skoog who scored six points with Jordan Harris and Kaleb Ebersole contributing five points each led Milledgeville in the scoring column.
West Carroll 60 Le-Win 37
The Thunder (11-2,3-0) took a twenty one to twelve first quarter lead and rolled to the twenty three point win. West Carroll increased their lead to a dozen points (34-22) at the half and led fifty eight to thirty going into quarter number four.
West Carroll head coach Josh Knuth, said of his teams performance, “We came out with a lot of energy and intensity tonight which was nice to see since we had such a long layoff over the break. Our bench played well throughout the game also. We have to clean up a couple of rotation things on defense so we can become more solid on that end of the floor. We also need to continue to work on our offensive execution as the season progresses and things get more familiar with us.”
Eric Naples led West Carroll with nineteen points and Brady Edwards added fourteen. Adam Werhane and Shay Chenong who both scored ten points led the Panthers (6-7,1-2).
January 7
Pearl City 49 Le-Win 46
The Wolves jumped out to a thirteen to six first quarter lead and held off the Panthers to take the three point win. Pearl City led by six points (29-23) at the half and Le-Win cut that lead to just four points (38-34) going into quarter number four. The Wolves Zach Moyer led Pearl City in scoring with fifteen points. Tevin Sellers topped all scorers in the contest with twenty three points.
Morrison 56 Fulton 44
Although the Steamers led thirteen to seven after the first quarter, the Mustangs came charging back, outscoring Fulton nineteen to ten in quarter number two to take a twenty six to twenty three lead at the half. Morrison kept that lead at three points (40-37) going into the final period and outscored the Steamers sixteen to seven in quarter four to make the final margin of the win. Matt Wilkens led Morrison with fifteen points and teammates Luke Brands and Bill Bos added fourteen and thirteen points respectively. Trae Tiesman led Fulton with seventeen points.
Milledgeville 58 Kirkland-Hiawatha 41
Milledgeville took a seventeen to eleven lead after the first quarter and led twenty eight to twenty at the half. They extended their lead to thirteen points (43-31) going into the final quarter and outscored the Hawks fifteen to ten in quarter number four to take the seventeen point win. The Missiles had eight different players put up points with Kaleb Ebersole leading the way with fourteen points. Jordan Harris added a dozen for Milledgeville. The Hawks were hampered by their inability to convert on their free throws, making just nine of twenty two attempts.
West Carroll 52 Eastland 50

The Host Thunder held a seven point lead (16-9) after the first quarter and held off a furious Cougar charge to take the narrow two point win in Mt. Carroll on Saturday night.
West Carroll led by just three points (27-24) at the half and maintained that three point lead (38-35) going into quarter four. The defense was tight as both teams struggled at times to get the basketball up the court. The lead see sawed back and forth with the Cougars having a chance to knot the scored or take the lead with just seconds remaining but West Carroll stifled the attempt and held on for the win.
Thunder head coach Josh Knuth said, “It was a great high school basketball game tonight. Back and forth and we were fortunate to come out with the victory. We have to capitalize better at the end of games, particularly from the free throw line. I was proud of the way we battled all game even though we didn’t shoot the ball real well. We played some solid defense tonight and if we continue to do that we will have a good year. We must get better at our execution in order to be the team we want to be.”
West Carroll’s Brady Edwards topped all players with twenty eight points. The Cougars were led by Tyler Giedd’s seventeen points with teammate Ty Hartman adding thirteen points and Dalton Shaner scoring ten.
