Linda Fritz

Linda Fritz, age 53, of Lanark, Illinois passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab Center, Mt. Carroll. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll, with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given in Linda’s memory for the FHN Leonard C. Linda was born November 29, 1958 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ronald R. and Margaret (Farrell) Ritchie. She grew up on a farm, enjoyed 4-H and in 1976 graduated from Boscobel High School, Boscobel, Wisconsin. Following High School, Linda worked at Bohlman’s Drug Store in Boscobel for 23 years. On March 13, 1999 Linda married Stanley Fritz in Boscobel. Linda moved to Mt. Carroll, Illinois with Stan, and their family grew when they traveled to Bulgaria in 2002 to bring home their son, Austin. Linda fell in love with Austin the minute she saw him.

Linda was a member of SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church of Mt. Carroll, and earlier Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Boscobel. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, creating stained-glass artwork, bowling, and family get-togethers.

Linda is survived by her husband, Stanley and son, Austin of Lanark; her parents, Ronald and Margaret Ritchie of Boscobel; four sisters, Kathy (Robert) Everson of Fennimore, WI, Jeanne (Chris) Wolff of Wauzeka, WI, Bonnie (Todd) Stenner of Boscobel and Barbara (Rick) Ritter of Boscobel; three brothers, Ron (Christy) Ritchie of Boscobel, Mike (Jeannie) Ritchie of Sun Prairie, WI and Jerry (Kathy) Ritchie of Chilton, WI; father in-law and mother in-law, Ronald and Helen Fritz of Mt. Carroll; sister in-law, Roxann (Gerald) Specht of Evanston, IL; brother in-law, Rodney (Cheri) Fritz of Lake Carroll, IL; 21 nieces and nephews; and 8 great nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Lucy Matilda (Schoenhaar) Miller, age 93, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at FHN Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 10:30 Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Savanna with Reverend Daniel Foelske officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.

Maria Torres, age 83, of Thomson, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 30, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna.

Evelyn A. Jacobs

Evelyn A. Jacobs, age 87, of Chadwick, Illinois, died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick. Burial will follow in the Chadwick Cemetery.

Dottie M. Peters

Dottie M. Peters, age 91 of Savanna, Illinois, died on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Robert L. Morhardt

Robert L. Morhardt, age 81 of Rockford, Illinois formerly of Elizabeth, Illinois, died on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Anthony O.S.F., Medical Center, Rockford, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2012 at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabeth. Burial will take place in the Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth. Alice W. Zink

Alice W. Zink, age 78, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation Rites will be accorded and a private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in Alice’s memory.
