Mr. & Mrs. Larry Smith

Open House set for Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Smith of Thomson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, at Thomson United Methodist Church.

Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend.

Beryl Jean Brown and Larry Smith were married November 27, 1960 in the Thomson United Methodist Church in Thomson, IL.

They are the parents of five children: Gwen Smith of Thomson, Barton (Ellen) Smith of Morrison, Julie Pickney of Clinton, IA, Ileen Goldensoph (Thomas) of Low Moor, IA, and Judd (Michelle) Smith of Thomson. They have ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smith has been engaged in farming all of his life on the family centennial farm.

Mrs. Smith works part time for the Village of Thomson and is involved in several community organizations.

The couple ask that gifts are omitted.

Voss’ Welcome ew Daughter

Blake and DeAnne Voss of Pearl City welcomed home a new daughter, Lucy Joyce, born Tuesday, November 2nd at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. A brother, Lincoln, 22 months, also welcomes Lucy home.

Grandparents are Armin and Sandy Groezinger of Shannon, the late Joyce Groezinger, Melvin and Jan Voss of Pearl City. Great grandparents are Iola Voss of Freeport and Faye and Hilma Brinkmeier of Pearl City.

Edens Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Marty and Kris Eden of Pearl City will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on November 20,2010 at the Eagles Club in Freeport, Illinois. Friends and relatives are invited to join in the celebration from 4:30-9:30 p.m. for a reception and dance. Food will be served from 4:30-6:00 p.m. This will be followed by a dance with music by Hickory Road.

No gifts please. You may bring a non-perishable food item for the Pearl City Food Pantry. Hosts for the occasion will be their two children and their spouses, Perry (Maurine) Eden of Freeport and Pamela (Sean) Brady of Hoffman Estates. There are five grandchildren. Marion Eden and the former Christiana Albrecht were married at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Massbach, Illinois by Pastor Lee Luebke on November 20,1960.
