David Livengood

David Livengood, age 44, of Howard's Grove, WI, formerly of Milledgeville, died as the result of an automobile accident, Saturday night, October 17, 2009 near Elkhart Lake, Wis.

David was born February 3, 1965 to Sheldon and Margaret (Holden) Livengood in Sterling, Ill. He graduated from Milledgeville High School, class of 1983 and he attended Illinois College and Western Illinois University. He sold equipment for Polo Equipment before moving to Howard's Grove, Wis. in 1993. He was currently working for Country Visions Coop in Kiel, Wis. as a certified crop sprayer and grain handler. David enjoyed all sports as a participant and a spectator. He still holds the IHSA record for "Most Punt Return Yardage" in a Class 1A football playoff game. He was a member of Howard's Grove Men's Club and the Milledgeville Brethren Church.

Survivors include his mother of Milledgeville; one sister, Susan Meadows of Plainfield, Ill.; one brother, Steve (Holly) Livengood of Parker, Colo.; one nephew, Chase Meadows; three nieces, Kasey Meadows, Lauren Livengood, and Megan Livengood; aunts and uncles, Richard and Sharon Martin of Fox Lake, Wis., Ed and Sheree Novotny of Sugar Grove, Ill., Mike and Judy Smith of Rockford, Ill., and Tom and Diane Simpson of Oregon, Ill.; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Milledgeville Brethren Church with Reverend Russell Gordon officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2009 from 4 - 8 PM at the church. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Helen Roggatz

Helen Martha Roggatz, age 84, of Mt. Carroll, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Carroll County Good Samaritan Center, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. A Remembrance Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Visitation held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donald Rogers

Donald James Rogers, Jr., age 49, of Savanna, Illinois died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna, with Pastor Gene Meyers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established for Don.

George F. Murray

George F. Murray, age 70, of Elizabeth, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth. Local visitation will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009, from 4 - 7:00 p.m. at the Law - Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Visitation will then be held on Friday, October 23, from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., Algonquin, Illinois. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntley, Illinois.

Elsie J. Lawson

Elsie J. Lawson, age 71, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, with Reverend Gary Abney officiating. Burial will follow in the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Memorials may be directed to the Needy Children’s Fund, Savanna.
